Item and modifier names containing angle brackets display correctly on the new KDS view

DATE:
AUTHOR: Toast product communications

Previously, an item or modifier name containing angle brackets, such as <<Sourdough>>, did not display correctly on the new kitchen display system (KDS) view. Item and modifier names now appear on the new KDS view exactly as you entered them in Toast Web.

For more information about new KDS view, see New KDS view.

How to verify

Test at a location in Test Mode.

  1. In Toast Web, create an item or modifier with angle brackets in its name, for example <<Sourdough>>.

  2. On a Toast POS device, create an order that includes that item or modifier and send it to the kitchen.

  3. On the KDS device, note that the item or modifier name appears exactly as you entered it in Toast Web.

Availability:

First available in Toast POS version 2.116.
