Combining checks is unavailable while your Toast POS device is offline

You can no longer combine checks on the Toast POS app while your device is offline. Previously, you could combine checks without payments while offline, which could cause check data errors when the device reconnected. While your device is offline, the check selection list is disabled, and the message Checks cannot be combined while offline appears. Combining checks works as usual when your device is online.

How to verify

To verify this update, put a Toast POS device offline, for example by turning off Wi-Fi. Go to the combine checks screen and try to select checks to combine. The checks are disabled, and the message Checks cannot be combined while offline appears.
