Claim tickets across multiple kitchen stations with KDS load balancing

You can now use kitchen display system (KDS) load balancing to claim tickets across multiple identical stations or kitchen lines. This feature helps you split incoming tickets between stations, improving efficiency. Kitchen employees can manually claim tickets from a shared queue, distributing workload dynamically based on real-time station capacity.

To configure load balancing, navigate to Kitchen > Kitchen stations > Load balancing in Toast Web to define load balancing groups. On the KDS device, subscribe the station to the appropriate load balancing group.
