Configure up to four fixed-value reward tiers in your loyalty program

You can now configure up to four reward tiers for a Toast Loyalty program, and each tier can be either a cash discount or a free item. Previously, cash rewards used a progressive structure, where every point a guest earned past the unlock threshold increased the amount they could redeem: $5 at 50 points, $5.50 at 55 points, $6.00 at 60 points, and so on. A program could also include only one cash discount. Fixed-value tiers replace that structure, so a reward is worth the same amount every time a guest redeems it, your guests choose how much of their balance to redeem, and they can save toward the next tier.

An example of a multi-reward program is:

• $5 off at 50 points

• Free coffee at 75 points

• $12 off at 100 points

• Free sandwich at 120 points

How to configure reward tiers

Where you start depends on whether your program already uses a cash reward.

If your Toast loyalty program uses the progressive cash reward

1. Go to the Loyalty page in Toast Web (Marketing > Loyalty > Loyalty overview). A prompt invites you to check out the new loyalty tier system.

2. Select Check it out. A modal shows your current progressive reward structure alongside a slider comparing what a guest can redeem under each system. For example, a guest with 191 points can redeem $19.10 under your current progressive configuration; under fixed cash rewards, that guest can redeem $10 for every 100 points and needs 200 points to reach the next tier of $20.

3. Switch to fixed cash rewards, then create your tiers — for example, 100 points for $10 and 200 points for $20.

If your Toast loyalty program does not use cash rewards, or you are new to Toast Loyalty

If your location is new to Toast Loyalty, you do not need to do anything additional to begin adding cash reward tiers. You will see a rewards list with two options:

• Cash discounts

• Free item rewards

Free item rewards continue to support item selection and reward limits (e.g., “free drink up to $8”)

Note for all Toast Loyalty locations: Your loyalty program must always have at least one active reward. You can edit or deactivate individual rewards, but you cannot deactivate all of them.
