Configure break intervals and voluntary break waivers using break tracking

You now have more flexibility to customize how break intervals are tracked during a shift and can enable voluntary break waivers. Define custom intervals for required rest and meal breaks within a shift using either:

• Basic rules: a single, repeating interval for all breaks.

• Advanced rules: custom intervals for each eligible break based on time worked or prior breaks.

When enabled, employees can waive eligible breaks, and the Toast platform records these waivers, providing clear visibility into waived and missed breaks.

To update your break tracking rules, navigate to Employees > Timesheet management > Break types in Toast Web.
