Improved experience for splitting and moving Items

When you select the Split by seat button on the Toast POS app, there is a new Actions button that displays a dialog with two new functionalities:

• Split Items between selected seats: Evenly divide one or multiple items among multiple selected seats.

• Move Items to a different check: Transfer one or more items to a different guest's check quickly and efficiently.

This change is currently in limited release. Starting September 8, 2025, this change will affect Toast POS locations in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Canada.

The image below shows the location of the new Actions button and the Actions dialog.

These improvements are designed to expedite service, ensure accurate checks, and create a smoother experience for both restaurant employees and guests. For example, being able to split and move items quickly and efficiently is useful for dining types such as tapas and dim sum.
